Fabric Development Manager CHW - Maternity Cover

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to manage the research and development of all hardware and trim for the Childrenswear collections whilst adhering to the critical path and the business strategy. We're offering a 1-year maternity cover contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Initiating research, development and presentation of fabrics for all RTW collections including revitalising core lines
• Ensuring commercial and technical requirements are achieved and supporting the design, quality, testing, lead-time and pricing strategies
• Managing communication and effective working relationships with fabric suppliers and internal partners
• Motivating and managing the Childrenswear team
• Managing the teams' adherence to the critical path and ensuring timely delivery of trims for sampling and communication of accurate data
• Budgeting and excess fabric cost management
• Inspiring designers through trim presentations and developments

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Extensive fabric and leather development experience working at a relevant level for a premium/ luxury brand essential
• Knowledge of production techniques, commercial pricing and testing standards
• Expert of Asian and European Mills
• Confidence using Microsoft Office programmes and PLM platform
• Language skills an advantage ( Italian, Chinese)
• Proven effective relationship management with design, product development teams and external suppliers.
• Knowledge of current market and trends and competitors' products
• Demonstrable experience of influencing key stakeholders
• Brand awareness and high taste level
• Ability to manage and motivate a team in a pressurised environment
• Successful communication and leadership skills
