The Toy Design Department seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member with demonstrated leadership and ability to serve as department chair and teach courses in foundational proficiencies through capstone projects, that include conceptual and technical skills, with the student's learning experience built on the highest standards of academic and scholarly excellence.
The successful candidate will have experience in the toy industry, from design through manufacturing, including experience working alongside graphic designers, packaging designers, safety, engineering, marketing, and sales teams. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to translate a 2D rendering into a 3D sculptural prototype, the uniqueness and integrity of each student's individual design.
In the area of departmental leadership, the successful candidate will oversee administrative responsibilities as required, student and faculty mentorship, provide long-term vision for the program aligned with the mission of the department and the school, and with the college's strategic plan. The candidate should have a strong interest and motivation in the development and implementation of curriculum, departmental activities and college-wide service, and continued and sustained research with a commitment to scholarship relating to the mission of the department and to the discipline.

- A bachelor's degree with three (3) years teaching experience in toy design or in related field(s) such as industrial design for children's product(s).
- Minimum six (6) years of senior-level full-time, current professional experience in the toy design industry.
- Affiliation with professional organizations within the industry.
- A master's degree in industrial design or a related curriculum.
