The THNA Creative Studio is a full-service, in-house integrated creative agency, supporting marketing and communications initiatives for Tommy Hilfiger, The Americas.
The Studio Team is responsible for managing all areas of photo/video production, retouching, digital and print production to deliver a coherent and consistent visually branded message across all marketing channels. Marketing channels include, but are not limited to, direct to consumer, email marketing, point of sale, e-commerce, wholesale, social media, influencer marketing, advertising, public relations and events.
ABOUT POSITION:
The Art Director will lead Product Detail Page (PDP) initiatives and is responsible for the creative development and execution of PDP photography for the E-Commerce and Wholesale businesses in North America. The Art Director will provide on-set direction and partner with a team of producers, photographers, stylists, and hair & make-up artists to create high-quality visual imagery that aligns with the brand's creative direction and vision. The role will require the Art Director to continually innovate and elevate the brand's expression for product photography and consider the consumer experience.
The ideal candidate should have experience in photoshoot creative direction, designing for retail marketing environments and ability of bringing to life a holistic consumer journey. A strong knowledge of fashion E-Commerce, web and mobile web production, digital and imagery pre- and post-production will allow the Art Director to work with creative teams and internal/external stakeholders to find innovative, yet feasible solutions to various marketing initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and supervises E-Commerce product photography from content planning to creative execution for all divisions including but not limited to Sportswear, Tommy Jeans and Underwear
- Collaborate with the Marketing and E-Commerce teams to ensure that creative strategies support brand and business goals
- Responsible for the on-set creative direction, photographer selection and set design to create visually compelling and high-quality content for product photography
- Oversee castings and model selection, along with hair & make-up direction and guidance
- Brief photographers, hair & make-up artists, stylists and retouchers
- Partner with stylists on poses and styling on-set to ensure product is highlighted correctly
- Oversee the production and execution of all visual assets (on-figure, stills), ensuring that they meet quality standards communicating creative feedback to producers and external vendors
- Supervise all pre-and post-production work for all imagery in coordination with production team; manages the aesthetics with digital technicians and partners with producers while navigating tight deadlines and maintaining budgets
- Ownership of routing image recommendations to leadership and final select approvals
- Develop E-Commerce PDP guidelines for both on-figure and product photography
- Liaise with Global Creative and PVH Studio teams to stay abreast of any modifications to PDP styling and photography guidelines, ensuring North America needs are considered
- Ability to regionalize Global creative direction, apply agency supplied branding guidelines and coach designers on adhering to such guidelines to meet business needs
- Manage team workload and timelines in partnership with supporting Producers
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand Marketing initiatives and Merchandising strategies to ensure brand consistency and alignment are being applied to creative across all touchpoints
- Conceptualize and present creative ideas to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders through mood boards and mockups
- Streamline projects whenever possible and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Maintain and manage partnerships with external Agencies, Stylists, Photographers, Vendors
- Can quickly respond and adapt to creative feedback and requests
- Foster cross-functional relationships and effectively meet objectives, deadlines, and budgets
- Ability to motivate and lead both direct and indirect reports
- Coach, mentor and develop direct reports, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
- Stay up to date with emerging trends in design, technology, and E-Commerce to ensure that our creative approach remains relevant and competitive
- Ensures projects stay within agreed upon budgets and creatively problem solves with cross-functional teams as needed.
- Approves PDP imagery and post-production
- Determines appropriate shoot crew and talent in partnership with Senior Director Creative Studio and Senior Manager PDP Studio
- Determines external vendors to use based on project scope in partnership with Senior Manager PDP Studio and Producer
- Prioritizes designer workload based on project schedules and business importance
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with composure and adherence to deadline
- Recommends and continually updates procedures to improve operational efficiency
- Ability to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities required
- Availability outside regular office hours, when needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-7 years creative experience in E-Commerce and Retail environments in Fashion
- 3+ years art direction and leading a team
- Creative agency experience a plus
- Fashion retail experience a plus
- BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience (portfolio required)
- A refined taste level with on-set art direction skills with an emphasis on PDP photography
- Experience with photography direction, on-set lighting and fashion editorials
- Keen understanding of E-Commerce terminology, site attributes and creative content needs
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects etc.), Capture One, Sketchapp and Figma
- Experience in photoshoot planning and pre-production, as well as imagery and video post-production for both laydown and on-figure assets
- Experience working cross-functionally with E-commerce, Merchandising and Media teams
- Effective management of multiple, concurrent projects against aggressive timelines without compromising accuracy or quality
- Strong web animation and interactive design skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of direct marketing
- Solid understanding of both print and digital assets with ability to integrate them seamlessly
- Experience working cross-functionally with Retail Marketing and Merchandising teams
- Effective management of multiple, concurrent projects against aggressive timelines without compromising accuracy or quality
- Knowledge of maximizing design to achieve production efficiencies
- An understanding of customer priorities and ability to strive to exceed expectations
- Ability to take direction, concept and provide multiple design solutions with limited direction
- Strong knowledge of fashion photography history and trends
- Ability to think outside the box and awareness to digital trends
- Extremely detail oriented, well organized, strong problem-solving skills

This temp assignment has an anticipated length of 3-6 months, but is subject to change based upon business needs.
Pay Range: $66.00 - $76.00
