Position Overview
DUTIES: The Data Science and ML Architect is part of Ralph Lauren's Global Data and analytics team and is responsible for designing, building, and overseeing the overall AI and ML solutions within the company. Responsible to architect, design, direct and lead the AI and ML solutions that are scalable, fault-tolerant and low-bias and that can be integrated and operationalized using available tools and resources. Work with the extended Global Analytics team to define the processes, standards, frameworks, prototypes, and toolsets in support of AI and ML development, monitoring, testing and operationalization. This includes decisions around leveraging open-source, augmented ML, pretrained ML models or integrated AI PaaS solutions for key data and analytics consumers. Establish operational efficiency in AI initiatives collaborating with line of business users, data science and engineering teams and develop a feedback loop between data science development and business use cases to ensure delivery of business value. Design for an ensure ML Model explainability as a key feature across the AI and ML solutions and products. This includes adherence to regulatory frameworks, security, and privacy, explaining the inner workings of the model and interpreting the outcome of ML models to the business community. Guarantee compliance with data governance and data security requirements while creating, improving, and operationalizing integrated and reusable Data Science and Machine Learning pipelines. Develop strong partnerships with key line of business stakeholders and the extended Analytics teams and ensure the solution design is well understood and embraced by team members. Understand the technology landscape in the broader retail and fashion apparel industry and provide thought leadership to define creative solutions to problems that balance speed of execution with the ability to create sustainable wins and propose advancements to the Ralph Lauren AI and ML roadmap. Train counterparts such as data scientists, data analysts, LOB users or any data consumers in analysis and visualization techniques and provide mentorship to team members to develop and scale Data Science and ML solutions to the enterprise level with Industry best practices. Provide technical expertise and advisory services in the development of AI strategy with senior leadership, whether to promote integrated-ML solution development, introduce agile methods to accelerate delivery of ML initiatives or develop long-term plans for ML directives. Drive delivery of AI and Machine Learning Analytics solutions in an Agile delivery model. Document requirements and solution design as stories that can be completed within a sprint. Work as part of the sprint team to ensure requirements and design are well understood and achieve the expected value. Telecommuting permitted, must report into office as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
LOCATION: Ralph Lauren Corporation, 100 Metro Boulevard, Nutley, NJ 07110 REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer/Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or related, or a Master's degree in the above mentioned fields and 3 years of experience in the position offered or related. Requires 3 years of experience with: data science and ML development life cycle and the tools and platforms around Data science and Machine Learning space; analytical or business intelligence disciplines including data analysis, visualization, feature engineering, and ML Modelling; working on analytical capabilities within Retail Fashion and Apparel functional areas like Planning, Merchandizing and Value Chain; working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with executive business stakeholders in support of a departmental and/or multi-departmental analytics initiatives; working with augmented AI/ML platforms like Dataiku or Data Robot, pretrained models and integrated ML and AI solutions; analytical methods including regression, forecasting, time series, cluster analysis, and classification using languages like Python or R; data management principles and architecture including data warehouses (Amazon Redshift), data lakes (Amazon S3) and extract, transform, load/extract, load, transform (ETL/ELT) tools (AWS Glue); visualizations and Insights generation using MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlikview and PowerBI; working with data science teams in refining and optimizing data science and machine learning models and algorithms; working with data governance, data quality, and data security teams including privacy and security officers in moving data pipelines into production with appropriate data quality, governance and security standards and certification; and agile methodologies and applying DevOps and DataOps principles to data pipelines to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation of data flows between data managers and consumers across an organization.
