Quality Control Fabric Manager

NORMA KAMALI is a women’s clothing company who design, manufacture, and distribute globally, primarily through e-commerce accounts and the brand website.

Must have extensive fabric knowledge in the contemporary RTW market, as well as cut sew knits classification.

This position works with the design/development fabric manager and the production manager in conjunction with NK requirements for quality.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years' experience especially in cut and sew knits with Lycra.

Must take the responsibility of understanding the quality standards set by the brand for each of the fabrics for relaxed and stretch measurements. The brand establishes fit approved patterns based on the fabric for the optimum fit for the consumer.

We are primarily a cut and sew knits company. 85% of our fabrics are knits and a majority have Lycra. The ideal candidate must have thorough knowledge of knits their stability issues, finish, weight, stretch, and hand feel. To maintain a consistent fit in our garments, the fabric must be consistent in both quality from color to color and season to season.

Protocol

It is imperative that the development fabric is check thoroughly and then is used and approved as the standard for production.

Work with development design and production to be sure for every new seasonal fabric even the repeat fabrics in new colors and prints. Be sure the approved sample yards are then the standard for the production to match. Every bulk submit must be inspected as well as tested for bleeding shrinkage and wash ability. Testing at sampling and at production for consistency required.

Leadership and responsibility.

Communicate effectively with both the fabric mills and the factories.

Must have extraordinary communication skills and give clear requirements to the fabric mills based on expectations.

A constant follow up with a sense of urgency.

Must be a leader and enjoys taking responsibility for the position held.

Acts immediately to prevent and solve problems daily.
