The VP of Retail, US is responsible for leading the performance, profitability, optimization and development of all U.S. full line retail Stores and Shops in alignment with the global strategy of HUGO BOSS AG and the market. In addition, this position champions and leads the achievement of financial targets by ensuring strong team performance through selling excellence and exceptional client experience. Exhibits strong leadership presence achieving business objectives through talent development that aligns with the HUGO BOSS values. The VP of Retail, US uses his/her role to drive and exceed business success.

What you can expect:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
  • Leads the full line retail business through effective collaboration and partnering across key functions: Visual Merchandising, Training, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Retail Buying Team, Store Design and Retail Operations.
  • Collaborates with Regional Directors / Managers on recruiting top talent.
  • Leads the performance management and talent development initiatives in alignment with company objectives.
  • Ability to develop and execute business objectives that are linked to successful business objectives and that demonstrate a strong return on investment that supports the organization's ability to attract, develop and retain top talent.

Retail Sales & Profitability Targets

Achieve and/or exceed retail sales targets through the following:
  • Ability to interpret data (P&L) and develop and execute against the strategy of the organization and the market.
  • Determines the market KPIs to identify and lead priority actions to achieve sales targets and business growth.
  • Through collaboration and ability to synthesize data from key stakeholders, determines retail sales targets.
  • Develops and executes against strategic plans for full line retail Stores and Shops.
  • Must add value and possess the ability to lead successful retail store openings, store closings, renovations and expansions.

Team Management & Development
  • Ensures a consistent approach to talent development and performance management to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Leads succession planning in collaboration with Human Resources to drive career development and build a talent pipeline.
  • Leads retail store management towards successful development of meaningful grassroots action plans to achieve sales, profitability and talent targets.
  • Partners to develop, review and approve the store's business action plans.
  • Travels to stores to develop relationships with Regional Directors / Managers and General Managers to develop a strong understanding of their business context.
  • Leads a structured store visit and identifies areas of development and growth.

Selling Excellence/Client Experience

Leads through direct reports and team the following:
  • Successful development and execution of selling excellence to achieve business targets and exceed the clients' expectations through interpretation of data.
  • Successful development and implementation of dedicated tools and resources to achieve retail productivity
  • In coordination with the Operations function, ensures successful deployment of retail store projects and assessment for continuous improvements.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree required/MBA preferred
  • 15 + years of experience driving sales and retail management teams
  • Organization and ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong leadership, professional, oral and written communication skills
  • Must have an ability to plan and manage both the strategic and operational functions of the business
  • Has to be flexible, used to dealing with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team oriented environment
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • Must possess luxury experience
  • Ability to engage and motivate teams
  • Results driven

The expected base salary range for this position is from $250,000 - $300,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
