Job Details

AMIRI is seeking a seasoned Accounting Manager to support our Milan offices. The EU Accounting Manager will be responsible for all financial and accounting activities of the AMIRI Milan office and will play a pivotal role in the company's financial planning, reporting, and compliance. They are responsible for strategic financial planning, regulatory compliance, and maintaining a strong financial team. This role is critical in supporting the organization's overall goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and plans in coordination with corporate finance goals.
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide decision-making.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management and headquarters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Optimize cash management and investment strategies.
  • Working with accounting/tax/payroll firms from Milan, Paris, and London and then consolidating each book by country and reporting to the headquarter to the US parent company.
  • Provide support various accounting related matters including EU development and production vendor maintenance, office expenses, showroom expenses as well as payroll support.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain a risk management framework for the Milan office.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Manage banking relationships and negotiate financial agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax reporting and planning.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and tax filings.
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, ensuring their growth and development.
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to the finance team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a master's degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
  • Should be based in Milan to support the regional office and team.
  • At least 10 years of experience in apparel industry in accounting/finance preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial management and leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English & Italian.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
