ABOUT US

Desmond & Dempsey is a brand dedicated to decorating the downtime. Our purpose is to create products (mostly pyjamas) that mark the pause in our customers' lives. Our products are sold predominantly via our own website and in top-tier retailers around the world (e.g. Selfridges and Nordstrom). We are a dedicated and inspiring team of 20 that put our values of comfort, creativity and celebration at the heart of everything we do.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We’re looking for a highly strategic, data-conscious, analytical and hands-on Performance Marketing Manager to lead our customer acquisition efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be working closely with the founders and other key departments. You will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing our customer acquisition strategies across all paid performance channels - digital or otherwise. You truly understand customers and what makes them tick, and use this knowledge to create and execute a dynamic plan to introduce D&D to customers in the UK and USA.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Create, implement and manage a dynamic digital strategy for our performance marketing channels to drive customer acquisition and growth in the UK and US.
  • Operationally run all paid channels  - Meta, Google, affiliates and test new channels. This is not a purely strategic role; you should expect to be in the details, helping the business improve ad performance and scale customer acquisition efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team to develop clear briefs for ad campaigns, working collaboratively across teams to ensure that our direct marketing activity is aligned with key business goals, KPIs and our trading calendar.
  • Ensure our performance marketing and trading calendar is kept up to date, and readily available to external stakeholders.
  • Ensure performance is benchmarked against competitors and industry standards, and the wider business is kept up to date with performance and new opportunities to explore.
  • Deep experience and understanding of common performance marketing metrics (CAC, ROAS, LTV:CAC etc), reporting weekly to the CEO on key KPIs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years experience working as part of a team to deliver new customer growth across all the main performance marketing channels
  • You enjoy getting your hands dirty and spending time on the details of performance marketing metrics, optimisations, and attribution.
  • You have a growth mindset, taking a proactive approach to test & experimentation to keep refining to improve performance or unlock a big opportunity.
  • You understand that creative is the key to strong performance marketing and have experience collaborating with design teams and managing feedback loops.
  • Proven track record driving growth in either agency or in-house (preferred), working with performance marketing budgets of at least £50k/month for a B2C e-commerce brand.
  • Organised and detail-oriented.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in Google Analytics (GA4) and Excel
  • Ability to analyse data and convert insight into actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong stakeholder management and coordination with external agencies
  • Experience or excitement for scale-ups with an appreciation of the sometimes ambiguous, changeable or less structured nature of the work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, proactive and take initiative
  • Highly organised, logical, and efficient, and can work to tight deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.

BONUS EXPERIENCE

  • SEO experience
  • Direct Mail and OOH experience
  • Experience working with DTC Brands with an eye on the USA

BENEFITS

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + birthday off
  • Hybrid Working between studio and home
  • Flexible working hours
  • Year-round employee discount for fancy pyjamas
  • Fast-growth company with a strong culture
  • Enhanced parental
  • Leave Cycle to work scheme
  • A business that will invest in your career development and allow you to develop and grow
