About the Role

In this role, you will support company efforts to maintain a positive employee relations environment, inclusive of high employee engagement and performance as well as upholding company culture. You will help develop and implement proactive employee relations management strategies that support business partners' business goals and effectively manage labor relations, including responding to labor activity up to and including union campaigns. You will help ensure business partners comply with employment law, labor law, and the Gap Inc. Code of Business Conduct.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain up-to date knowledge base of US and Canada labor law and Labor Relations Board case law
  • Support development and maintenance of Gap Inc. labor relations strategy, philosophy, and trainings
  • Develop education and conduct training on proactive employee and labor relations, identifying and addressing organizational vulnerabilities
  • Counsel business partners on proactive measures to ensure maintenance of a positive employee relations environment and compliance with applicable labor and employment regulations
  • Serve as internal consultant/point person to address labor relations issues that arise
  • Assist the company's response to union campaigns, including strategy development and implementation; participate in response to labor relations activity company-wide
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and consensus


Who You Are

  • Understanding of/exposure to US and Canada employment law and demonstrated proficiency in US and Canada labor laws and union campaigns
  • Experience creating and maintaining a proactive employee relations strategy
  • Experience responding to labor activity and union campaigns
  • Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
  • High professional standards regarding customer service, confidentiality and integrity
  • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (both verbally and in writing)
  • 25% travel

Salary Range: $117,500 - $155,600 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
