Job title: Atelier Coordinator

Reports to: Atelier Manager

Job Purpose: Ensure smooth running workflow of the atelier as well as bringing support to the Atelier Manager, PD and design team throughout development. Key communicator within the atelier team. Cross functional role.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working hand in hand with the Atelier Manager in organising the workload for pattern cutter, sample cutter and machinist teams throughout the development and pre-production stages.
  • Setting up the Atelier in the evening and throughout the day.
  • In charge of keeping the atelier neat and organised, ensuring everyone has what they need.
  • Responsible for overseeing studio supplies – re-stocks and upkeep the maintenance of atelier equipment.
  • Helping coordinate the cut and make the schedule with Atelier Manager, to ensure smooth workflow for meeting deadlines.
  • Supporting the Atelier Manager on ensuring technical information is related to machinists / cutters / pattern cutters throughout development. Oversee atelier development tests including maquettes and finishing trials.
  • Organising weekly development fittings: booking fit models and ensuring all samples are ready, having quality controlled them with the pattern cutter ahead of fittings.
  • Ensuring each phase of development samples have constructed and finished to the highest standards and fit, making sure any additional trials have been carried out accordingly.
  • Participation in creative projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring fabric consumptions are recorded after every sample is cut and this information is filed and is accessible to atelier, fabric and PD team.
  • Follow up and check all ratings are handed in on time for PD.
  • Active participation in show preparations.
  • Responsible for organising and replenishing the show kits.
  • Responsible for managing invoices and tracking atelier spendings.


Skills and Experience needed:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, incl. 1-2 years of pattern cutting / making for a designer brand.
  • Experience working across Womenswear, Menswear, Jersey and Knitwear would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational and communications skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative and to prioritize work tasks.
  • Team player and ability to build strong work relationships.
  • Confident using Microsoft Word/ Excel.
  • Significant source of support.
