The VP of Retail, Canada is responsible for leading the overall performance of HUGO BOSS Canada Retail Stores for DOS, Shops & Outlets with profitability, optimization and development in alignment with the global strategy of HUGO BOSS AG and the market. This will be achieved through developing and implementing tactical plans, providing the leadership necessary for the teams to deliver exceptional client experience, excellence in people management, quality KPI growth, elevated visual merchandise management and the effective control of inventory and EBIT.

What you can expect:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
  • Lead DOS, Shops & Outlets retail business through effective collaboration and partnering across key functions: Visual Merchandising, Training, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Retail Buying, Merchandising and Allocation Team, Store Design and Retail Operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing the store fleet's P&L/financials to meet overall sales/profit goals and expense targets in partnership with Finance.
  • Collaborate with direct reports on effective recruiting practices for retaining top talent in all markets.
  • Lead the performance management and talent development initiatives in alignment with company objectives.
  • Ability to develop and execute business objectives that are linked to successful business results which maximizes sales.

Retail Sales & Profitability Targets:
  • Plan, develop and implement Retail Strategy including Retail Expansion strategy, targeting key market locations and achieving profitable returns.
  • Determine KPIs and interpret a P&L to identify and lead priority actions to achieve sales targets and business growth.
  • Ability to collaborate and synthesize data from key stakeholders and determine retail sales targets.
  • Monitor and control sales, repairs, maintenance expenditure plans and expense budgets quarterly.
  • Set goals, monitor progress and evaluate region, store and channel results to ensure that organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the company.

Team Management & Development:
  • Lead, develop and create training programs in partnership with HR to promote world class customer service initiatives and deliver a high-performance culture.
  • Lead succession planning in collaboration with Human Resources to drive career development and build a talent pipeline.
  • Establish performance goals for all direct reports and monitor performance on a continuous basis.
  • Lead retail store management towards successful development of meaningful grassroots action plans to achieve sales, profitability and talent targets.
  • Partner with Senior Management to develop, review and approve the Store's business action plans.
  • Travel to Stores to develop relationships with Regional Directors / Managers and General / Store Managers to develop a strong understanding of their business.

Operational & Selling Excellence:
  • Develop and implement programs to achieve Retail excellence.
  • In partnership with Retail Operations implement effective operational tools, retail store projects and assessment for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead and execute successful retail store openings, store closings, renovations and expansions.
  • Lead and establish a world class CRM & Outreach program supporting the HUGO BOSS brand and regularly communicating to customers the brand messages and stores' local market activities.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's degree /MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in Premium retail.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Exhibit strong leadership presence achieving business objectives through talent development that aligns with the HUGO BOSS values.
  • Strong retail management experience across multiple locations and business channels.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills and ability to engage and motivate teams.
  • Achieve business measurements; traffic, conversion, units per transaction, sales vs. plan, gross margin etc.
  • Strong business acumen; including retail math and P&L responsibility.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills at all levels in the organization.
  • Must have an ability to plan and manage both the strategic and operational functions of the business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Develop growth strategy through product assortment, current and new store growth, sales initiatives, etc.
  • Frequent travel required.
