Job Details

The Sales Manager, Wholesale is responsible for the development of our wholesale distribution across all categories. They work closely with finance, marketing, design and production teams, supporting decision-making and strategizing through a sales and growth lens. The person in this role oversees the acquisition of new strategic accounts and maximizes opportunities with our current customer base to ensure we meet our commercial targets while enhancing our culture and supporting the evolution of the Lingua Franca brand.

Must be based in New York and available to work onsite, in person.

 

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Management

  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual and seasonal sales budgets, wholesale sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve company objectives. Develop and implement effective sales strategies for sustainable growth.
  • Report weekly, monthly, and seasonally to Design/Production teams, CEO and Brand President on business performance and new opportunities in an agreed format.
  • Analyze sell-through reports and proactively lead initiatives (e.g., reorders, collaborations with PR and Marketing) to drive account performance and increase sales
  • Effectively communicate our brand narrative to internal and external stakeholders, aligning retailer teams with our brand values.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with key clients, partners, and distributors to maximize sales and business opportunities.
  • Analyze the market and ascertain adjacencies with the intention of improving our offering and ensuring we are well-positioned in the market.
  • Deliver product training, enhance brand awareness, and ensure that collections are presented and positioned in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Lingua Franca products.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the wholesale team, ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded through guidance and support.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, motivating and inspiring the sales team to achieve both individual and collective goals.
  • Provide valuable feedback and recommendations to senior management regarding sales performance, market trends, and competitive insights.
  • Oversee daily administrative tasks, including order placement and processing, sending order confirmations, logistics support, and assisting the finance team with payment follow-ups.

Merchandising and Product Management

  • Collaborate closely with design and production teams to contribute to the development of new collections, ensuring alignment with market demand and brand positioning.
  • Regularly evaluate product performance, pricing strategies, and inventory levels to optimize sales and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives and promotional activities.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in the designer fashion industry in a sales leadership role
  • In-house luxury brand experience essential.
  • Management experience is required.
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue.
  • An extensive network within the industry
  • A strong understanding of the fashion production process is greatly preferred 
  • Solid understanding of retail math, including mark-up, sell-through, OTB, and gross margin
  • Experience with Google Workspace, ERP platforms, JOOR experience essential.
  • Great analytical and numerical skills with meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Ability to quickly recognise, diagnose and solve for challenges and workflow.
  • Entrepreneurial - willing to roll up sleeves and be scrappy
