We at By Malene Birger are looking for a Wholesale Director to lead the wholesale team in continuing our exciting international growth journey.
As Wholesale Director your overall responsibility is to drive the sales growth globally and lead and inspire the Wholesale team as well as being a key player in the Management Team and lead the strategic sales expansion for the brand.

Daily tasks

  • Lead, develop and inspire the Wholesale and Retail sales teams of 6 direct reports based in Copenhagen, Stockholm and New York with a focus on growth outside the Nordics.
  • Manage agents and distributors, co-create business plans, set targets and lead business reviews to evaluate KPI’s.
  • Work closely with Strategic accounts to build a strong and honest relationship to optimize performance and secure long term growth through robust business plans.
  • Work with marketing to establish key account marketing plans to drive sell through, brand awareness and secure collaborations with strategic partners.
  • Develop and manage internal and external reporting for the wholesale business to maximize sales team, agent and distributor performance and provide data and insights to the BMB Management team and Board of Directors.
  • Work closely with product teams to leverage feedback from sales team, buyers, agents and distributors to identify growth opportunities for key items and categories.
  • Lead department projects including; developing virtual sales tools, pop up showrooms, soft corners and key account events etc.
  • Plan and execute inspiring and informative sales meetings before selling in start to provide all sales reps, agents and distributors with all relevant tools they need to deliver showroom excellence.
  • Own P&L for wholesale and retail department, including OPEX, forecasting, OTB inventory management and margin maintenance.
  • Develop annual strategy, identify opportunities and complete annual sales planning together with the CEO for wholesale and retail.



  • Minimum 7 years experience in a Sales leadership role
  • Well established international network within the fashion industry
  • Able to demonstrate examples of leading a sales team to increase account profitability, managing agents and distributors, onboarding key accounts and executing successful contract negotiations
  • Previous experience of full P&L management for a +150m dkk net sales business
  • Strong understanding of By Malene Birger mission and DNA
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
  • Flexibility to travel
