As the Ecommerce Director at 66°North, you will play a pivotal role in building and enhancing our global ecommerce business. Leveraging your expertise and strategic vision, you will be responsible for developing and executing initiatives to drive online sales, enhance customer experience, and maximize profitability. This position will be hands-on, requiring direct involvement in day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive ecommerce and digital marketing strategy to drive growth and profitability for 66°North, in line with annual targets and long-term plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies related to content, exclusive services and customer benefits, search engine optimization, digital touchpoint enhancements, and customer relationship management
  • Own the P&L for the ecommerce vertical, establishing key performance indicators & ambitious yet achievable goals, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of ecommerce professionals, including merchandising, operations, product management, creative, digital marketing, and customer care.
  • Identify growth opportunities and levers across various areas such as product offerings, customer experience, and marketing initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders and Centers of Excellence (COE) teams to optimize performance marketing efforts and drive customer acquisition.
  • Champion a data-driven and approach to decision-making, leveraging analytics and experimentation to inform ecommerce strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with 66°North's brand headquarters while adapting strategies to local market dynamics.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand market share and reach new customer segments.
  • Establish and deliver upon customer acquisition and customer retention goals.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for 66°North's ecommerce organization and culture, promoting industry reputation and thought leadership.
  • Actively contribute to the diversity and inclusion initiatives of 66°North, fostering an inclusive work environment for all employees.


  • Proven track record of leadership in building and scaling ecommerce businesses, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce best practices, with experience in developing and executing successful ecommerce strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability.
  • Experience in the clothing retail, beauty or fashion industry is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Executive presence and ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving transformational impact.
