We are looking for a motivated individual to join the finance team of fast-growing luxury leather goods brand Métier. Our head offices are in London, with an Italian hub overseeing product development and production, based in Florence, Italy.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the success of the Italian finance department’s day to day operations in Italy, but also provide key insights to support the CFO and senior management team in the business development.

This role is based in Italy, and will require fluent Italian language and accounting skills. It reports into the CFO based in London and works closely with the Finance team in London as well as the Production team based in Italy. The right candidate will have the opportunity to grow within the role and company and get valuable exposure to different areas of the industry.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Bring Accounting tasks in-house for Métier Italia srl.
  • Initially to work alongside our outsourced Accountants to take over the financial management of the company.
  • Identify and set up the correct accounting software for the business.
  • Provide monthly financial accounts and commentary to the UK Parent company.
  • Conto Economico, Stato Patrimoniale and Bilancio di verifcia.
  • Budget preparation and cash flow planning for the future commitments of the business.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Intercompany invoicing & maintain group loan account schedules.
  • Oversee payroll consultants and booking of financial transactions.
  • Manage supplier invoices, queries and match to production purchase orders.
  • Report accurate & timely monthly stock values, review movements in PLM and input into the raw material warehouse processes & controls.
  • Treasury management with administration of the company bank accounts – Unicredit / Banca Cambiano.
  • Statutory filing requirements for IVA & Financial Accounts.
  • Work alongside the Company Accountants to ensure all compliance deadlines are achieved.
  • Ad-hoq company administrative tasks.

Key Personal Competencies /Skills 

We are a small team so you must be proactive and willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. We are looking for:

  • Accounting experience from a similar role, preferably within Leather goods or Apparel industries
  • Data driven and analytical with strong ability to use data to present findings to team
  • International experience (subsidiaries reporting) including VAT and duty handling is highly meriting
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal). Preference to be good communicator in English language both written and spoken.
  • Highly motivated, hardworking, and flexible; comfortable with change 
  • Fluent in Italian and English
