Job Description

 
As Macy’s builds brand authority in Beauty and Fragrance, the Manager of Private Brand will be responsible for the curation and execution of Beauty private brand programing and Beauty Box within the context of the sales/margin plans and business strategy. Also, growing Omni sales and awareness that Macy’s is the Beauty Destination with creative, disruptive and fresh ideas. This position reports to the VP of Merchandise and Digital Strategy.
 
Essential Functions:
 

Product Development

  • Source and develop corporate promotional items (Omni GWP and Digital GWP); write orders and track shipping.
  • Source and develop corporate retail programming – evergreen and seasonal (coffrets, holiday sets) for all of beauty;  write orders and track shipping.
  • Analyze performance of private brand GWP and retail items for future programming.
  • Collaboration with Fashion Office to ensure appropriate seasonal trends.
  • Work independently in planning, programming and ensuring event deadlines are met.
  • Shop retail markets to seek new assortment ideas;  analyze competitor activity and pricing strategies and identify assortment opportunities and product trends for the season.
  • Manage annual budget for promotional and retail items; reconciliation monthly with finance.
  • Manage financial projections, forecasts and reconciliation;  manage manual invoices and ensure accounting has invoices and payment is timely.
 
Beauty Box
  • Curate monthly Beauty Box assortment, themes and bag design.
  • Orders – manage and execute creation, tracking and invoicing;  reconciliation monthly with finance.
  • Partner with logistics to ensure all deadlines are met with delivery of components to warehouse.
     o Sourcing vendors - procurement of samples, orders and delivery to warehouse.
     o Beauty vendors – securing samples, order entry, delivery to warehouse and vendor Beauty Box performance.
  • Setup page online – turn in, back tagging and approvals to ensure Beauty Box is live.
  • Refresh online images and video content for monthly Beauty Box.
  • Manage financial projections, forecasts and reconciliation;  manage manual invoices and ensure accounting has invoices and payment is timely.
  • Sampler Program and Beauty Box – vendor contracts must be maintained.
     o Both vendors supplying samples and for the Sampler Program (the vendor(s) producing the program).
 
Marketing
  • Partner with marketing to ensure placement of all promotional and retail items.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure placement of Beauty Box.
  • Responsible for all samples to be received by deadline for photography.
 
Execution
  • Ensure site and Store execution of all promotional and retail items. 
  • Online Exposure – Cat Ads, Page Setup, Turn In, Approvals, Beauty Block List and Promo Calls/t as needed.
  • Store Execution – Complete monthly visual execution guide to ensure clear setup in stores of OMNI gwp’s.
Qualifications:
 
Education/Experience:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 3-4 years retail.
  • Digital experience preferred.
  • Proficient in PC operations, MS Office and Excel.
 
Communication Skills:
 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong negotiating skills.
 
Reasoning Ability:
 
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, flexible and self-motivated.
 
Work Hours:
 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
