Job Description

VISUAL COORDINATOR

The Visual Coordinator should have a strong vision for the Helmut Lang stores and showroom, a strong understanding of the brand’s visual history, a knowledge of the arts, and a background in conceptualizing, producing and executing small and large-scale, highly curated environments.

OUTLINE

 Responsible for all brand visual displays for both retail and showroom, from conception to completion 

–    Strong ability to construct build outs and source materials

–    Exceptional communication skills

E    Experience working in a team and ability to collaborate

IDEAS 

–      Contributes creative solutions and ideas to a diverse range of current brand initiatives

–      Must have experience creating presentation decks and communicating creative concepts in a concise manner

–      Must have a thorough understanding of the Helmut Lang roots as a pioneering brand

–      Responsible for generating new ideas, partnerships and external creative collaborations to create excitement around Helmut Lang retail 

–      Strong cultural awareness (fashion, music, art)

AESTHETIC & APPLICATION

–      Works with creative team on seasonal strategies, in retail stores and showrooms

–      Conceptualizes, executes and maintains store displays seasonally, meeting the unique needs of each store

–      Plans and maintains window installations, furniture, garment display (rails, hangers, fixtures) and floral arrangements

–      Creates and produces in-store signage and window vinyls

–      Ensures production and install of displays are up to par, using the proper level of construction and aesthetically appropriate materials

–      Is driven to continually seek outside inspiration and maintain a visual library of references

–      Actively considers and seeks out collaborations with artists

–      Has ability to contract external construction where necessary

–      Effectively communicates with Helmut Lang store teams and wholesale partners to lead cohesive visual direction

LEADERSHIP

–      Builds and maintains productive partnerships

–      Collaborates with retail team to develop understanding of display ideas and processes

–      Communicates effectively at all levels

–      Attends store openings, meetings, display workshops and tradeshows where applicable

CUSTOMER CONNECTION

–      Uses various visual methods to engage the client

–      Acts as a brand ambassador, reflective of the company values and aesthetic

–      Understands store specific distinctions to guide and tailor the experience

–      Engages with local community via events and social media platforms

–      Cultivates an environment of genuine customer connection

–      Utilizes Helmut Lang sales, marketing and creative teams to conceptualize, create and apply an innovative, resourceful, compelling and well executed visual environment

–      Engages the community through display workshops, events, gatherings and social media

The Ideal Candidate

REQUIREMENTS

–      Artistic background i.e. fine arts and 3 dimensional installation preferred

–      Must be proficient in Adobe creative suite

–      Contacts in the NYC art community a plus
