Job Description

Position Description:

Reporting into the Senior Director, Tommy Sport, this role will be responsible for the reseach and development of concept design for Tommy Sport.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Colour Design
    • Research trend and future sport relevant stories that are appropriate to the Tommy Hilfiger brand
    • Prepare seasonal moodboards
    • build sport-relevant and brand-relevant colour palettes, appropriate for all apparel products
    • analyse product needs and allocate appropriate colour combinations, according to product type
    • build relevant colour combinations, according to gender
    • build relevant colour combinations, according to end use
  • Materials & Trims
    • Research trend and future sport relevant stories that are appropriate to the Tommy Hilfiger brand, to support the seasonal direction
    • build sport-relevant and brand-relevant materials and trims palettes, appropriate for all apparel products
    • analyse product needs and allocate appropriate materials and trims solutions
    • prepare moodboards to showcase research
    • Prepare initial design concepts in conjunction with the DD with particular focus on materials and trim
    • Artwork and tech pack concept design ideas in Adobe CC
  • Product Innovation
    • Research innovations coming from a variety of industries to find sport- and consumer-relevant solutions
    • Provide background information to DD, SDD and Innovation
    • prepare moodboards to showcase research
    • Prepare initial design concepts in conjunction with the DD with particular focus on product innovations that are briefed from the SDD and Innovations team
    • Artwork and tech pack concept design ideas in Adobe CC
  • Liaise with suppliers and PD in conjunction with DD and SDD, to enable new concept ideas to be realized on the innovation timeline

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Educational experience in fashion design, contour, swim or sportswear
  • Good communication skills: verbal, visual, written
  • Technical: good Adobe CC knowledge
  • Keen eye for trends, detail and brand identity
  • Team player
  • Can work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good organizational skills
  • Problem solving attitude & can-do personality
  • Ability to manage work and time are key skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Undergraduate on Bachelor degree (B.A.) from college or university in design or equivalent combination of education and experience in fashion and/or textile design
  • Other internship experience an advantage
