Position Description and Responsibilities:

The trim developer will report into the Trim Divisional Manager. The Trim developer is responsible for the trim development from idea until final product. The trim article is developed within the nominated supplier matrix, aligning with the brand’s aesthetic, quality and corporate responsibility standards.

The Main Responsibilities Are

(Branded) trims for Tailored division Tommy Hilfiger:

  • Responsible to develop all (branded) trims for the Tailored division (linings, waistbands, labels, buttons, metal hardware…)
  • Manage the development timeline up to sample delivery
  • Sourcing new trims/finishes/shapes from trade shows, supplier visits, market research and concept design briefings
  • Present fabric- trim trends to design, and collaborate with design to identify new seasonal developments
  • Developing new trims from technical drawing/ original sample inspiration, and provide technical input
  • Commenting/advising suppliers on development/ received sample
  • Negotiate it to the required look, quality, price, minimum, production location and lead-time
  • Track & chase suppliers for sample delivery info
  • Place final salesman samples (SMS) orders with suppliers
  • Manage seasonal digital and physical trim library
  • Collaborate with suppliers, design, and product development with the objective to minimize liabilities
  • Accountable for maintaining all data and testing of fabric-trims and ensuring accurate update of internal systems.
  • Drive PVH Quality requirements specific to your package

Requirements:

Tools In Order To Full-fill The Above

  • Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Adobe Illustrator or Indesign is a plus (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills. Be able to drive conversations with: Vendors, Suppliers, Design and Development/Production
  • Training will be provided for PLM Centric: the main system to generate all the material/style/product and production information

The Ideal Candidate

  • Education: higher textile education (BA Fashion and Textile technology, TMO or similar) Minimum 2-4 years working experience in development / sourcing / production
  • Fluent in English
  • Living in the Netherlands
  • Possesses a work permit for the European Community
