Job Description

Job Purpose:

• To formulate design concepts 

• To research, develop & interpret new and exciting artworks that are commercially viable and meet company standards.

• To engineer artworks for process during both sampling and production


• Research and maintain knowledge of relevant brands to determine market trends.

• Create original artworks, both placements and repeat 

• Develop seasonal print and garment visuals for use by design teams and to aid commercial sales

• Render artwork specific to the brands aesthetic

• Re-work artworks, putting into repeat and re-colouring.

• Develop artworks for textile development such as lace, jacquard and embroidery

• Liaise with designers, technicians and production team to produce commercially viable designs that meets company requirements

• Colour and print matching

• Engineer sampling print files for garment prototypes

• Produce and organise factory cutting guides for seasonal sampling and production

• Colour match all print files to the seasonal pallet, from the printer to the customer

• Ensuring all artworks are suitable for process and nominated mills

• Consult technical and fabric teams to ensure all production print files are accurate and delivered on time, suggesting solutions to any problems and ensuring all printed products meet company standards

• Ensure all design work and production is archived in line with department procedure

• Work to departmental and company wide deadlines

The Ideal Candidate

• An understanding of digital printing, surface textiles and complex garment construction

• Highly competent user of Adobe software and other relevant CAD packages

• Tenacious, assertive and determined attitude with excellent attention to detail

• Good communication and problem solving skills

• Interest, enthusiasm and for fashion

• Dedicated, hard working and committed person willing to invest long term

Mary Katrantzou studied at Rhode Island School of Design before transferring to Central Saint Martins to complete a BA in Textile Design. She then went on to graduate from Central Saint Martins with a distinction in MA fashion, which in turn led to the launch of the eponymous Label in October 2008.
