Job Description

MZ Wallace is looking for a Systems Administrator to manage all aspects of the planning, implementation, and support of mission critical systems and infrastructure.  This strong leader serves as a technical expert and resource for all systems and locations to deliver the best possible experience for both our customers and employees.  This role reports to the Director of Technology.


  • Responsible for managing the support of business-critical systems including modifications and maintenance
  • Communicate with all functional disciplines and gather business requirements for IT applications
  • Improve business processes by translating business needs into IT requirements and implement the resulting demand according to the priorities defined by business and IT strategies
  • Manage the portfolio of systems and the life-cycles of the systems, including product roadmap and change management
  • Manages the system life cycle, including, planning, designing, acquiring, documenting, testing, implementing, integrating, maintaining, and modifying IT/business systems
  • Works closely with business and IT personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support business plans and IT strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues
  • Planning, implementing, and maintaining all hardware, servers, software, and infrastructure for PC/LAN, communications, systems operations, mobile, or desktop use
  • Provide training and support to users on use of hardware and software
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the proper operations of all computer and information systems
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures related to security and operation of all technology resources
  • Keep inventory of all technology systems and assets
  • Implement disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge, and keen understanding of best practices
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstations and software
  • Microsoft Office 365 & Email Administration
  • NetSuite Administration
  • Shoretel/Mitel Administration
  • Administration of ancillary systems (Slack, Jira, Confluence, Greenhouse, etc)
  • Contributes to departmental software QA testing
  • Other related duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in a technology role
  • Retail/e-commerce experience preferred
  • NetSuite experience required
  • Experience in a Mac environment
  • Experience managing system implementation
  • Strong experience in various scripting languages
  • Office 365 and Shoretel experience preferred
  • Managing and configuring wireless and wired LAN technologies, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, and VoIP technology
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills with sense of priority for deadlines and attention to details
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to work autonomously
