Job Description

POSITION/JOB TITLE: Director of Marketing and Communications

DIRECT REPORT: Creative Director and CEO 

ROLE: The Director of Marketing and Communications will develop and oversee the brand image and identity, ensuring that all communications meet the standards and maintain the integrity of the brand. It will propose, conceptualize, direct and execute projects that further enhance the Altuzarra brand story.

RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsibilities are composed of three distinct orientations: Marketing and Branding, Digital and eCommerce, Press Relations and Communications:

Marketing and Branding

  • Work with internal and external teams and in close coordination with the Creative Director, CEO, Design team, Merchandising and Sales to create and disseminate a unified message and branding strategy
  • Continue to evolve and enforce brand guidelines (to be reviewed and updated annually) and in accordance with the vision, strategy and budget agreed upon, to be communicated to our internal and external partners
  • Continue to ensure all hard and soft packaging standards are aligned every season, and spearhead the evolution in design of physical branding and packaging as needed
  • Manage and oversee production of seasonal runway presentations (during Paris Fashion Week or New York Fashion Week), lookbook shoots and press presentations, serving as key liaison between Altuzarra and all third party partners including (but not limited to) production agency, PR agencies, casting, styling, photography, beauty, set design and sponsors
  • Oversee management of physical and digital archival system to ensure continued safekeeping of all archives and digital materials created to date
  • Manage monthly workflow planning, timelines, budgets and status of global marketing and communications calendar
  • Recruit, train and manage growing press and marketing team

Digital and E-Commerce

  • Serve as main point of contact between Altuzarra and production partner(s) for digital flagship ecommerce site, ensuring brand guidelines and business goals are met at all times across creative imagery, product imagery, copywriting, merchandising and product launch cadence
  • Oversee production and management of creative and product assets for ecommerce website, its editorial and email marketing calendar according to merchandising and delivery calendar
  • Manage full funnel global digital marketing plan in line with overall business goals. This includes (but is not limited to) Google and Facebook advertising, paid social, email/CRM deployment
  • Collaborate with wholesale team and external wholesale partners on marketing and branding initiatives, ensuring all digital and social activity is on brand and communications is executed in a timely manner 

Press Relations and Communications

  • Build and develop relationships with appropriate key marketing and press partners, seeking brand-right opportunities for collaborations, sponsorships, events, product development and the show, in line with brand guidelines and corporate strategy
  • Manage and maintain close relationship with global press agencies, ensuring continued alignment of brand goals to global communications strategy
  • Set the strategy and direction of all print and online communications assets including digital ecommerce flagship and social media platforms; determine presence in emerging platforms
  • Oversee sample trafficking strategy pertaining to global media, VIP and wholesale requests, adhering to overall brand image and strategy put forth
  • Maintain constant dialogue with management regarding media related issues or challenges
  • Serve as main point of contact between press and VIP teams for high profile celebrity dressing projects (e.g. Awards season, Met Gala, CFDA Awards,) ensuring maximum impact for media and digital outreach as appropriate
