Job Description

The PR Coordinator role is a key and leading position in the company in defining how we talk about KARA externally. Requires 1-3 year of experience, strategic thinking skills, excellent management skills and creative resourceful abilities.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Work with Creative Director/Founder and Marketing Director to develop and execute the PR strategy with clear goals, deliverables and measurable results, ensuring all activities align with brand image and positioning
  • Contact for media (domestic and international), cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with media (press, stylist, blogger) and other VIP. Support in securing press coverage and develop story angles to relevant media outlets, pitching new campaign and product launches; field domestic and international media inquiries; manage sample coordination and trafficking 
  • Proactively ideate media pitches based on KARA news and seasonal trends that positively position KARA in the press
  • Prepare all press materials, brand information and literature, create editorial reports and send weekly clippings to staff
  • Proactively monitor the news and social media cycles on a daily basis to keep the team updated on industry trends
  • Manage sample trafficking, send outs and returns
  • Coordinate press mailings
  • Assist in execution of events, invite and guest list management
  • Work cross-functionally across internal groups including creative, marketing, sales, design & development, e-commerce
  • Regularly attend key fashion industry events and strategically important social events

The Ideal Candidate

  • 1-3 years of experience in PR at a PR agency or fashion brand
  • Ability to problem solve and work with others toward solutions
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, strong inner drive for success “no task is too big/small attitude”
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task and be flexible; strong mutli-tasking skills
  • Business-minded, results driven
  • Routine oriented but flexible, must enjoy working in a creative and entrepreneurial environment
  • Proactive/resourcefulness
  • Confidence and passion
  • Ability to innovate and excite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
