Oversee company PR strategy with the goal of augmenting exposure, public awareness, and consumer loyalty. Act as brand guardian and ambassador; ensuring the company’s image is presented in a unique and elevated way through public and media relations, social media, and public events with the ultimate goal to increase sales. This role reports directly to the President of the company. 

Responsibilities

  • Work with external agency to execute PR strategies and programs to drive brand awareness, focusing on activities that are designed to drive business growth and brand equity
  • Understand Mara Hoffman brand DNA and demonstrate ability to choose partnerships that will resonate with current and prospective audience. Play a pivotal role in ideating and facilitating the company’s brand and influencer collaborations
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with highly influential people and brands, including editors, bloggers and key members of the media, across all verticals, building a database of partners for potential initiatives, networking support and coverage for the brand
  • Build on existing media relationships within the industry while also creating new contacts within the fashion, lifestyle, design and art space
  • Initiate the development and execution of opportunities generating maximum brand exposure through creative product placement, brand stories, interviews and launches with particular focus on features and profiles
  • Draft, edit and disseminate press releases and other relevant PR materials
  • Send monthly emails to update company on current press clippings and company media placements
  • Oversee all brand collection press previews and re-sees in-studio
  • Contribute to developing seasonal brand plans as they pertain to social media, charitable causes, press exposure, and retail partners
  • Oversee and manage all Fashion Week shows as well as manage PR agency, all third party partners, sponsors, vendors, secure pre-show, backstage marketing opportunities
  • Assist with planning and executing photo shoots and oversee casting
  • Determine PR budget and manage related expenses
  • Execute and manage all PR related events including events with wholesale partners
  • Attend meetings and PR-related events with Mara
  • Supervise office assistant 

The Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Public Relations and a proven track record in a management role working with luxury fashion clients
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills who can multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong interest in sustainability and/or environmental consciousness
  • Well versed in media, fashion, culture, retail and entertainment industry trends
  • Highly engaged in social media and able to drive engagement among key social media influencers
  • Proven relationships with media and business contacts that have delivered demonstrable results
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience in supervising and managing multiple projects and cross-functional collaborations
  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and schedules
  • Skilled at writing press releases and other PR related documents
  • Experience using Fashion GPS to track and organize samples 
  • Strong presentation and superb writing skills
