Job Description

Leverage global insights and brand ethos to manage the product line and life cycle through all stages of development inclusive of pre-planning, design creation, materialization, sampling and final execution of innovative product. Take ownership for area of responsibility with regard to category performance and product execution. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally as a strong team player to deliver strategic priorities for the product category.

  • Manage the product line category through the full life cycle under the direction of the product leadership team.
  • Build line plan through seasonal inspiration, trend, sales history & market research.  Analyze global performance to build an accurate range plan that optimizes SKU efficiency. Ensure category product is in line with brand DNA
  • Drive business by building profitable, market right, consumer right product that is in line with financial targets
  • Develop seasonal design brief and present to design team
  • Partner with other category product teams to ensure consistency and alignment of overall brand messaging and themes each season
  • Generate strategic color and material stories for new constructions and existing product. Drive material and print development for each category.
  • Own and drive critical path for category to ensure key milestones are achieved. Manage sample process and pricing strategy through pull-over, ILR, FLR and final production approvals.
  • Recommend pricing structure for assigned product lines
  • Management and maintenance of product information systems.
  • Manage confirmation sample process to ensure that production quality matches development sampling
  • Facilitate open dialogue with all channel and internal cross-functional partners to intelligently drive category business.
  • Collaborate with development to ensure product calendar dates are followed
  • Act as primary category owner and ensure key partners including but not limited to design, development, marketing, PR, inventory, DTC, sales ops, and global sales, etc. are up to date on product line activities, such as product updates, new style launches, price changes, go-to-market strategy, etc.
  • Partner with other category product teams to ensure consistency and alignment of overall brand messaging and themes each season
  • Establish self as category expert, mentor to junior staff and ambassador among senior staff, sales teams, marketing team, internal groups, external clients, etc.
  • Act as product expert for marketing collateral approvals and product packaging needs
  • Collaborate with legal team to protect brand integrity and drive product naming process
  • Create and deliver impactful  & engaging product presentations to entire executive team, global sales team and key retailers at milestone meetings

The Ideal Candidate

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 4+ years of related experience with some supervisory experience (retail, product line management, merchandising, product development & design)
  • Merchandising, product management, and/or retail experience preferred
