Job Description

The Wholesale Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and communicating strategic merchandise financial plans that support the company’s financial, product, and marketing objectives. This position will strategically drive the business   in order to maximize sales, margins and optimize inventory while contributing   to the development of Brand initiatives and ensure all planning activities support annual goals.

Seasonal Planning and Budget Management • Partner with Management to establish overall product business strategies • Collaborate with Account Executive to develop top-down and bottom-up seasonal and annual Key Account plans by utilizing historical analysis, strategic direction and • Own sales tracking process, trend forecasting, post season analysis and the communication of variances as well as supporting rationale to Sales, Merchandising and Production counterparts. • Communicate to counterparts in Merch and Sales final sales plans along with • Develop seasonal SKU plans and collaborate with Merchandising counterparts to ensure effective and efficient seasonal range planning • Participate with merchandising team reviewing product seasonal offering and carryover styles. • Partner with Account Executive to review seasonal Key Account plans to drive maximum selling and profitability performance both at the topline level as well as by door Forecast Process Management/Internal Reporting Analysis • Review, analyze and report weekly Key Account sell-through, shipping, open order and liability concerns. Create proactive action plans based on analysis and recommend to Account Executive and Key Account counterparts. • Provide Wholesale data and analysis as needed to Sales Senior Management on an ad hoc basis. • Work with AE to develop accurate, strategically and financially sound seasonal sales and inventory forecast • Consolidate and Present Preseason and In-season Forecast to Management Market Preparation • Travel to seasonal market appointments • Partner with AE on management meeting preparation and presentation of seasonal plans to retailers. • In market: Partner with sales to make any required adjustments to product plans/forecasts. Partner with Director of Sales and AE on negotiating and reconciling account financial plans to product plans. • Forecast product performance and product contracts, drive decisions on inventory disposition with AE

The Ideal Candidate

Minimum educational level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Management or related subject

Minimum experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years merchandise planning experience; 3 or more years of total work experience
  • Previous Wholesale Buying or Wholesale Planning experience preferred
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presenting complex material in an organized and compelling manner
  • Strong attention to detail and self-starter
  • Excellent retail math and advanced excel skills required
  • Experience with Full Circle preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting and recommending strategies and building a business case
  • Assuming additional areas of accountability successfully
  • Influencing and negotiating at a variety of levels
