Job Description

Purpose of Job:

To have a minimum of 5-6 years of experience working at RTW level.  Experience within the luxury sector across woven/knit/jersey preferred and including operating directly with an in-house Atelier.  The candidate as such should have a good understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting as well as sizing, fitting and grading and take a logical and pro-active approach to problem solving.  Candidate will have experience of working within a CMT and FF environment with manufacturers within the UK, Europe and the Far east.  Candidate should be a good communicator, strong administrator, highly organized, good at prioritization and good at relationship building and maintaining, as well as a proven track record of working as part of a team.  Must be flexible, proactive and able to work to tight deadlines and have a highly proficient skill set in Excel, Word and Outlook.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Pre-Production stage to Launch of Pre-Production Sample

Involves and liaises with the Sampling Garment Technician at sampling stage to be ahead at the production fittings

Attend production fittings and help with the organisation of it

Contribute and provide technical comments, record any confirmed amendments to the fit and finish of a garment. Prepare clear written notes and photographs from the original sample for the pattern cutter , production coordinator and factories confirming amendments to be made .

Use technical knowledge to discuss pattern amendments/queries if needed with the pattern cutter. Prioritise weekly pattern cutters work schedule together with the senior production manager, assessing which styles need to be processed first. Update production coordinators with any changes to BOM or ratings so these can be updated correctly in Zedonk.   

2.   Prepare PP comments:

Provide any technical and make details which will assist in making the PP sample correctly (taped measurements/finishes). Assist suppliers with any queries they may have in the making of the PP sample.    Make sure measurements on used patterns and samples are checked, and been seen through to the further steps of the process.

Liaises with the production coordinator to keep track of PPS stage and organises the fittings with the internal Production Team

3.   Approval of PP sample:

Using the tech pack to record and enter information on the SMS sample when required and the PP sample. Measure and fit the PP sample. Enter measurements and confirm approved measurements, provide clear comments and graded specification chart for production. If sample is not approved, discuss with production team to ensure further amendments are made as quickly as possible to keep to critical path.

4.    Quality control during manufacture and final production:

Liaise with the factories during the manufacturing process, when necessary, to resolve any technical/measurement issues. Visit factories to quality control production, to check on line production and develop good working relationships to ensure the manufacturing processes is managed well. To measure / fit and approve shipment samples. To record the final measurements and comments on the tech packs for all production styles. To ensure any rejected garments are altered and amended to the required standard, with help from the production coordinators
