Job Description

Responsible for the creation and preparation of all print and digital production files for final release, including publication Ads, In-Store Collateral, Large Format, Mailers, Digital Advertising and RLE needs. Strong emphasis on maintaining the highest level of quality while following internal guidelines, integrating the RL brand aesthetic and preparing guideline files and final production files.

  • Build, maintain and prepare print and digital layouts using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) Font Agent, Triple Triangle, Bridge, Lightroom, Acrobat and other industry standard software in accordance with brand standards and production specifications. Review all layouts prior to proofing and client review

  • Generate guideline files for global regions use. Create industry standard (SWOP/FOGRA/GRACOL) file versions for these regions

  • Check all files for type treatment (line breaks. rags, structure, and consistency)

  • Learn to Pre-flight print ready production files for commercial printing

  • Contact pubs for insertions based on Media plans, requesting current and accurate specs as needed. Pack up and ship proofs to pubs. Archive and update this information continuously on the server

  • Prepare laser, PDF and Epson proofs for client reviews

  • Prepare distro PDFs as requested, as well as for all final releases

  • Maintain proper file naming standards. Partner with Manager and Retouching on server organization

  • Organize and maintain archives of all Studio work

  • Work with Manager to learn printing processes and color management techniques

  • Work closely with Production Operations to confirm job specifications and timing on all brands

  • Create final RGB/CMYK output from approved working files (PSDs, layered TIFs) and large format files

  • Partner closely with Production and Retouching to manage requests for extensions and type legibility

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2-3 years of Agency or In-House Studio experience as a Production Artist

  • Working knowledge of software above. Knowledge of Capture One and Monday.com a plus

  • Ability to follow creative direction from senior team members and build upon creative ideas as needed

  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, attention to detail and positive energy is a must

  • Must want to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously against multiple timelines.

  • Light retouching experience (for image extensions, lightening and darkening for type legibility) a huge plus
