Job Description

Role:We are looking for an experienced Head of Wholesale with a proven history of success in improving sales productivity to lead our wholesale team. The Head of Wholesale will drive strategy, set goals, motivate and develop team members, working closely across Marketing, E-commerce, Supply Chain, and Social Responsibility. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining a wholesale strategy that ensures SOKO achieves our budgeted revenue goals. This role reports directly to our CEO and will inherit a high-performing sales team who is eager to grow. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leadership, has consistently delivered on ambitious sales goals, and has a strong track record of success in a startup environment. They will be an expert in the wholesale fashion industry who is passionate about SOKO’s mission and will match the energy of our dynamic team.

Responsibilies:

  • Create and implement the vision and strategy for the SOKO wholesale sales team
  • Ensure brand expansion and growth objectives are achieved
  • Be accountable for sales performance across assigned wholesale channels: specialty stores, boutiques, internet retailers and occasional retail pop-ups
  • Identify opportunities to grow SOKO internationally through tradeshows, showrooms or distributorships
  • Mentor and lead SOKO wholesale business including sales and operations teams
  • Ensure brand expansion and growth objectives are achieved by partnering with the CMO on SOKO collaboration partnerships
  • Responsible for management and provision of performance/data to sales and leadership to drive sales performance and support decision making
  • Ability to manage, motivate and inspire a team

The Ideal Candidate

  • A collaborative nature with the ability to skillfully influence and negotiate internally and externally
  • 7+ years experience in sales management and strategy
  • Brings strong relationships and network within the fashion/wholesale/retail industry
  • Achievement oriented (i.e., measures performance, improves outcomes, sets challenging goals
  • Prior experience in Specialty Stores, Boutiques, and Online Retailers
  • Ability to communicate and manage effectively from a distance (phone and email), in person/ 1:1, and group situations
  • Dynamic presence with business partners at all levels
  • Exceptional follow-up and organizational skills
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • Must be a leader and self-starter driven by curiosity to take initiative
  • Strong relationship manager with solid business acumen and critical thinking required
  • A collaborative nature with the ability to skillfully influence and negotiate internally and externally is necessary to succeed
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, and able to multi-task
  • Prior experience with international wholesale sales preferred
  • Familiarity with NuOrder/Joor and NetSuite CRM a plus
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including weekends (up to 30%)
