Job Description

  The Supply Planning team is responsible for leading the Supply Planning team efforts to maximize Macy’s Private Brands’ network capacity, inventory availability, increase overall operating efficiencies and reduce lead times. The team is accountable for translating demand plans provided by Financial and Merch Planning teams into category supply plans to better allocate and reserve capacity within their established vendors . Perform other duties as assigned.   Essential Functions: Provide leadership and expertise to Supply Planning team. Work with respective Demand Planner to create and operationalize a robust and comprehensive Brand/category demand plan format and methodology. Collaborate with team to empower the Supply Planners to drive results and increase overall vendor transparency. Understand current vendor network capacity and Brand “share of capacity”. Understand demand signals and growth plans and partner with Supply Chain to position supply to support growth in both the short-term and long-term horizons. Review and validate initial supply plans and capacity reservations on a monthly cadence. Partner with leadership from Financial & Merch Planning teams to ensure requirements for demand and supply syncs are met by teams. Work with leadership from Strategic Sourcing and Product to better understand and build capacity plans that support brand growth and vision. Establish monthly planning review sessions in coordination with Financial & Merch Planning teams. Escalate topics to VP of Strategic Sourcing regarding available forecasts and potential vendor issues. In partnership with Merch Planning and Financial planning, define Demand / Supply Plan Calendar and Milestone Meetings and make seasonal adjustments if required (e.g., agenda, timing, participants, etc.). Establish and track KPI goals to drive overall improvement. Senior Director Supply Planning needs to have extensive background knowledge of Supply Planning (e.g., global product flow, timing, countries of origin, costing, etc.) Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.   Qualifications :   Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree. 10+ years in supply chain and global sourcing with at least 4 years at the senior management level. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Demands: This position involves regular hearing, talking, and sitting in an office environment. Other Skills: Organized and highly detailed individual that is willing and able to dive into the details, but can also see the big picture. Vast experience leveraging business acumen, market intelligence and insight to drive overall strategic goals and business impact. Demonstrated ability to assess and adapt to a dynamic and global business environment. Proven executive presence to present, influence and collaborate with VP Strategic Sourcing and leadership team. Demonstrated ability to develop and empower their team by coaching on both technical and soft skills necessary to be successful in the organization. Proven track record of effectively leading teams in an ambiguous and changing environment to achieve goals and deliver results to broader organization. Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
