Job Description

To work in conjunction with key functional areas (merchandising, planning, sales, sourcing and finance) to assist in the development, forecasting and retail delivery of a well-balanced, lifestyle appropriate assortments that provide both volume and margin growth for our retail partners and reflects the seasonal RL merchandising vision for the home business (bedding and bath) for both LRL and RL brands.

Key focus to include:
  • Work collaboratively with key partners to identify and define product strategies and opportunities

  • Analyze historical and in-season selling to guide and action future seasons plans/developments

  • Lead projection management from initial pre-planning stage through market opening

  • Demonstrate proactive communication between merchandising, sales and account planning teams

  • Designated Super User for implementation of new merchandise planning system

  • Participate in pre-season merchandising meetings to understand product and global assortment strategies in order to deliver balanced assortments for wholesale

  • Develop the seasonal strategies based current assortments at retail to project life cycle of fashion and core assortments

  • Develop and work with global planning on annual global estimate of total units to be purchased for each delivery period and recommend flow/sales strategy for all tiers of business to meet sales, inventory and margin targets; proactively recommend adjustments based on changing needs of business.

  • Partner with VP on strategy, budget and inventory forecast

  • Lead team of two planners to ensure forecasts are within +/5% accuracy

  • Monitor and manage inventory commitments pre-market through delivery.

  • Lead team in review of current production orders and forecasts to ensure stock level goals are met. Track flow of goods, weeks of supply against forecasts and retail performance to make necessary callouts to key partners on opportunities and/or issues (product flow, backordering, and low weeks of supply) by sku.

  • Provide hindsight analysis to key partners to action future seasons investments and report on key deliverables

  • Various ad-hoc projects that will require a full understanding of product life cycle

The Ideal Candidate

  • College Degree required

  • 6-8 years related experience in planning, forecasting or replenishment

  • Proven ability to develop and implement new tools/processes to improve efficiencies

  • Working knowledge of replenishment forecasting and complexities involved. Experience working with large volume of SKUs.

  • Strong communication and team-building skills.

  • Home experience a plus but not required

  • Self-starter and highly motivated, organized

  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in retail math

  • Strong computer and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy critical; advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros) required
