Bella Freud was born in London and studied fashion in Rome. Upon her return to London she worked closely with Vivienne Westwood during the set up of the post punk label. Bella's approach to fashion and colour are hardwired in her DNA, her father Lucian and her great grandfather Sigmund, were both radical trailblazers in their fields of art and psychoanalysis.
Bella's love of music, film and art mix together to reference moments in her life and the colourful characters she has had the good fortune to meet and collaborate with on her journey.
Bella Freud is globally known for her instantly recognisable knitwear. Her signature "Word” jumpers have garnered a cult following amongst some of the world's most stylish women and men including Kate Moss, Alex Chung, Laura Bailey, Salma Hayek, Jane Fonda, Arron Jonhson, Eddie Redmayne and Keith Richards. Alongside her successful knit collection a collection of tailored suits and subversly demure dresses have gained a cult following at her Chiltern St store.
Bella's unique sense of style reaches further than pure fashion, with a fragrance and candle collection unique in the story behind each fragrance, and a collection of merino cushions and jacquard blankets the collection is growing into one of the most covetable brands around.
