Domus Academy was founded in 1982 in Milan, as the first postgraduate design school in Italy and as an open project revolving around the experience of Italian design and fashion. Over the years, Domus Academy has asserted its importance as a place of postgraduate education and research lab investigating innovation and design topics.
Domus Academy's educational program is deep-rooted in the "learning by designing" concept, namely the practice of learning through study, research and the development of ideas and projects based on the real demands and needs of companies, with the objective of providing students with the necessary know-how to work at the highest professional levels.
The academy offers 10 Master courses in the fields of fashion, design, architecture and business.
Since 1980 the Domus Academy Fashion School has continued to evolve thanks to constant contacts in the field, addressing new issues pertinent to the global fashion system and broadening its educational offer to meet the emerging requirements of the market.
The Fashion School encourages students to weigh up their personal identity with market needs, to form a creative identity which responds to new international fashion contexts; it is a centre of thought, a place of exchange, where students are taught to develop individual methodologies, to strengthen the expression of their creative identities and how to face the challenges of a rapidly evolving and complex industry.
The Fashion School collaborates with a network of professionals and leading companies operating in the various areas of interest.
