The School of Art & Design at Nottingham Trent University is one of the most established in the UK.

Dating back to the formation of the Nottingham Government School of Design in 1843, it was first established to meet demand for design expertise in the emerging textile and lace manufacturing industries.  

Building from our creative past, we recognise the importance and challenge of developing a future agenda in a fast-paced, changing world.

We offer a hands-on, creatively innovative and industry-embracing approach, and outstanding links with brands, companies and designers on a global level. All undergraduate courses feature live briefs and competitions set by industry experts.

Our award-winning undergraduate design courses span BA (Hons) Fashion Design; BA (Hons) Fashion Knitwear Design and Knitted Textiles; BA (Hons) Textile Design and BA (Hons) Fashion Accessory Design.

Undergraduate courses with a focus on the 21st century business of fashion include BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Branding; BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion; BA (Hons) Fashion Management and BA (Hons) International Fashion Business.

At postgraduate level we offer industry-facing courses to specialise and focus. Design specialisms span MA Fashion and Textile Design; MA Textile Design Innovation; MA Fashion Design and MA Fashion Knitwear Design.

Business and management courses at postgraduate level comprise MA Fashion Marketing; MA Fashion Communications; MA Culture, Style and Fashion; MA International Fashion Management and MA Luxury Fashion Brand Management.

Fashion and Textiles at NTU is ranked 5th in the UK in the 2017 Guardian League Table.
