Alain Bejjani is the former chief executive of Emirati holding company Majid Al Futtaim Group.
With three subsidiaries in property, retail and ventures, the group operates leisure establishments including Ski Dubai, Vox Cinemas, hotels and retail spaces like Mall of the Emirates. Bejjani stepped into his role in 2015 to oversee the group’s operations in 13 countries, including United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon and Qatar. Since assuming the role, he partnered with musician-turned-entrepreneur Will.i.am, who has produced an AI-powered voice assistant that will assist Majid Al Futtaim's customers in the retail sector.
Bejjani completed his studies at the Université Paris XII, with a bachelor's degree in civil law and a master’s in civil and corporate law. He went on to become a founding member of Bejjani – Melkane – Rached Law Offices in Lebanon. In 2001, he was appointed as executive vice chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of Lebanon.
Joining the Majid Al Futtaim Group as vice president of legal in 2006, he went on to become head of business development at the Majid Al Futtaim Properties in 2009. In January 2022, he stepped down from his role as chief executive.
He is a founding and board member of the Lebanese chapter of the Young Arab Leaders, sits of the board of the Lebanese Economic Forum and co-chaired the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa in April 2019.
