Alexandra Gordienko

Founder, Marfa Journal

As the founder of Marfa Journal, Gordienko has developed her Central Saint Martins graduation project into a full-time creative pursuit.

Biography

Alexandra Gordienko is the young creative mind behind Marfa Journal and has served as a creative consultant to Kanye West’s clothing line.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Marfa Journal began as a final school project. Filled with provocative, digitally rendered imagery and conveyed through a personal perspective, the publication is less of a disposable publication than an artistic keepsake itself. Inspired by a road trip to Marfa, Texas, the publication is a tangible manifestation of an array of creative projects.

Presently, the publication is stocked at indie bookstores and concept stores across the world in almost every continent, with wide circulation in Europe and the US. In the past, Gordienko has collaborated with Colette, Marques’ Almeida and Idea Books.

Looking to the future, Gordienko intends to expand her project into different channels — growing Marfa as an artistic, cross-cultural endeavour.
