Kim Ji-soo, or Jisoo, is an actress, model, K-pop singer and member of girl group Blackpink, which formed in 2016 under the management of YG Entertainment. The group also includes Jennie Kim, Lisa and Rosé.

Since their rise to fame in 2016, the girl band has had endorsement deals with Louis Vuitton and Dior Cosmetics, performing in buzzy French label Marine Serre and making individual front row appearances at Chanel, Michael Kors and Coach. The quartet is often lauded as the female equivalent of BTS.

Jisoo attended high school at the School of Performing Arts Seoul and was recruited by YG Entertainment in 2011, where she remained as a trainee until the formation of Blackpink in 2016. The record company’s chief executive, Yang Hyun Suk, reportedly began hinting at the formation of a new girl group in 2010 and only confirmed that Jisoo would be a member of that group in 2013. During that time, the singer featured in numerous music videos, K-drama and commercials for the likes of Nikon and Samsonite.

The band recently broke the US with a billing at Coachella, earning them more international fans. The band's stylist Choi Kyoung-won, designer of the rising handbag brand Avam, has created looks over the years that resonate with fashion-conscious women across Asia. One of many Instagram accounts dedicated to dissecting their outfits, @blackpinkcloset, has more than 193,000 followers.

Jisoo can speak Chinese and Japanese as well as her native Korean, aiding the global reach of the group. She has over 16 million followers on Instagram.
