Biography

June Sarpong is one of the most recognisable faces in British television. Over the course of her 20-year career, Sarpong has interviewed countless politicians and celebrities and hosted events such as Make Poverty History and Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations. Today she is a panellist on Sky News’ weekly current affairs debate show “The Pledge” among others. Sarpong works extensively with charity and advocacy organisations. For 10 years, she was an ambassador for HRH Prince Charles at The Prince's Trust and in 2007 she was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). Sarpong is co-founder of the Women: Inspiration & Enterprise Network, a women’s leadership network and empowerment conference. As co-founder of the DNA Summit, she gathers leaders from across different industries to tackle humanitarian issues. Her most recent endeavour is LDNY, an ethical fashion social enterprise that has partnered with the United Nations. In her forthcoming book “Diversify” (May 2017), Sarpong explores inclusion and diversity in the context of growing social divisions.
