What is the BoF 500?

The BoF 500 is the definitive professional index of the people shaping the $2.4 trillion fashion industry, hand-selected by the editors of The Business of Fashion, based on hundreds of nominations received from current BoF 500 members, extensive data analysis and research.


Formerlly the men's editor of POP magazine, Max Pearmain now serves as the editor of Arena Homme+, where he is credited with expanding the appeal of menswear publications to a wider global audience.

Born in Norwich, Permain was educated at the Slade School of Fine Art, where he earned a degree in fine art sculpture.

A favorite of both luxury and high street labels, Pearmain’s styling has been employed for advertising campaigns by the likes of Supreme, Calvin Klein , Acne Studios , Topman, and Joseph.

The styling maven has also contributed to the likes of V Magazine, Vogue Italia, i-D, and 032c. Additionally, he has collaborated with prominent photographers Tyrone Lebon , Alasdair McLellan and Jason Evans.  

Permain is represented by Rep Limited in London.
