Mônica Mendes is a key PR executive on the Brazilian fashion scene. Mendes founded Mônica Mendes communications over 20 years ago and managed the press for the country’s first international luxury brand retail opening. Since then, she has grown her client base to include Brazil’s famous Daslu as well as global luxury brands like Hermès, Chanel and Prada.
Over the last decade Mendes has worked tirelessly to present Brazil, long overlooked by many important luxury brands, as more than a franchising and licensing opportunity.
Elizabeth Saltzman Walker, international social editor of Vanity Fair, said of Mendes: "She brings solutions to problems.... and she treats each person, no matter how hard it is, as if they were the king or queen of the world.”
Mendes was the first public relations professor at Brazil’s first accredited luxury MBA program, created by Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado.
