Sebastien Perrin

Sound Designer

The Parisian creates the ultimate soundtracks to runway shows and after parties for clients like Altuzarra and Zac Posen.

Biography

Perrin represents a new wave of sound designers in fashion. The Parisian DJ has worked with major brands including Altuzarra, Armani, Chloé, The Row and Saint Laurent, crafting mixes for their runway shows. His engaging soundtracks often include eclectic twists, from hiring a pianist from Versailles to play contemporary rock at The Row’s presentation in Paris to mixing the American Beauty soundtrack with minimal techno for Phillip Lim ’s fifth-anniversary celebrations.

In the 1990s, Perrin worked the electronic music circuit in Paris, playing alongside contemporaries Daft Punk at iconic clubs such as Rex and Le Queen on the Champs Élysées. This scene led to Perrin studying under Michel Gaubert — the man behind the music of Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel — on a twelve-month apprenticeship. On his creative process, Perrin told The New York Times, “I see the collection and I reply in music.”

Perrin graduated from Paris Sound-Design & Engineering and has collaborated with a number of designers and music producers in addition to creating original scores for fashion films.
