The Japanese showroom director has become a gatekeeper to cool Asian retailers for an impressive roster of designers looking to grow their wholesale business in the region.

Seiya Nakamura is the founder and chief executive officer of Seiya Nakamura 2.24, a Japan-based showroom, brand accelerator and consultancy. Known for his holistic approach to sales, PR and distribution, Nakamura have showrooms in Paris, London, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Thanks to his growing influence in Asia, he has become a gatekeeper to fashion-forward retailers and buyers across the region, landing him a client list that by 2022 included Rick Owens , Courrèges, A.P.C, Ganni,  Marine Serre Peter Do , Frame and Autry.

After starting his career in London, Nakamura returned to his native Japan to launch his company in 2014, quickly making a name for himself on the trade show and fashion week circuits of both Asia and Europe. In 2022, his firm got a boost when a deal was struck with Twentyfourseven aimed at wider global expansion, which saw the Italian showroom-turned accelerator take a minority stake in Nakamura’s business.
