Established in 1833, Stephens College is a liberal arts university located in Columbia, Missouri. A women’s college, its school of design offers undergraduate courses in design, product, communications, marketing and management. Both the teaching staff and student body were held in high regard by current students. The majority of students receive some type of financial aid, and the college’s courses in marketing, business and sustainability scored among the highest in our student survey. All students are required to complete an internship during their studies; in addition, fashion design undergraduates receive mentorship from a working fashion designer. The school’s careers services received the highest score in our survey and, even though the alumni network may not be global, it is active and accessible. Seventy-eight percent of graduates surveyed had found employment within the industry within six months.

"I had a wonderful experience full of extra curricular activities. You truly are a big fish in a little pond here at Stephens if you are involved and work hard. I was constantly challenged but constantly had a support group to keep me going."
"The school's small environment lends itself to a great deal of specialisation and personalisation, allowing students to customise their programming and to build one-on-one relationships with professors. "
