Founded in 1928, China Academy of Art (colloquially called Guomei) is the first art university in Chinese history, with campuses in Hangzhou and Shanghai. With courses in both traditional craft and digital technologies, China Academy of Art seeks to bring together the past and future of Chinese design. Students praise the quality of the school's resources, teaching staff and their peers. Despite average scores for the international diversity of the cohort, students were satisfied with the global diversity of the course content. Both bachelors and masters students were impressed with the technical skills courses available to them; however, the marketing, business and sustainability scores were low across the board. Around 85 percent of students undertake internships during their studies, and 77 percent of undergraduates and 86 percent of masters graduates believed they were prepared to enter the industry following their studies at China Academy of Art.
