Global Fashion School Rankings 2017

De Montfort University

Leicester, United Kingdom

In the heart of England's midlands region, Leicester is home to two universities, including De Montfort. Alongside one of the world's first dedicated courses in lingerie and swimwear, the school offers bachelor degrees in womenswear, menswear and fashion knitwear, all taught in the campus' newly built Vijay Patel building. De Montfort has previously partnered with the British Fashion Council and brands like Burberry to provide students with industry experience and networking opportunities throughout their studies. Thanks in part to these initiatives, 91 percent of students surveyed believed they were prepared to enter the industry, with the school's career services also regarded highly. De Montfort scored impressively for resources and received 96 percent satisfaction rating for technical skills courses, which is one of the highest scores in our survey. However, marketing, business and sustainability scores were rated below average, and the university's placement in the rankings suffered due in part to the lack of global reputation among HR professionals. Overall, students were pleased with the quality of their peer group and teachers.
