École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, otherwise known as ENSAD, is a public art and design university located on the Rue d'Ulm in Paris. Steeped in history, ENSAD's roots reach back to 1766, the school also played a significant role in the art deco movement of the 1920s. Now, the fashion masters course offers educational pathways in both traditional haute couture craft as well as textile innovation. With an acceptance rate of 13 percent, ENSAD's masters programme is highly selective, and produces graduates with an above-average employability score, according to our survey. The school is also commended on the availability of financial aid, receiving the highest score of 93 percent satisfaction from respondents. However, low scores in marketing, business and sustainability courses leave room for improvement, while career services and networking opportunities were also considered below average by students. Overall, most students felt their education at ENSAD prepared them to enter the industry, with an 81 percent satisfaction rate.
"I am enjoying my experience at the school. I have learned a lot, we have interesting workshops, partnerships and financial support. I think it has a lot of potential and it is becoming a great fashion school in Paris. Though we could benefit from better communication around the school and around the students' work, there are a lot of initiatives coming from the students towards better recognition."
"As long as you know where you want to go and what you want to work on (enough so to defend it in front of the teachers), I think you can really enjoy this school and benefit from the financial aid it offers."
"For me, ENSAD is one of the most powerful schools for creativity, but certainly not for business. "
