Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin

Berlin, Germany

With two campuses based in East Berlin, Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (more commonly known as HTW Berlin) was established in 1994. With a unique focus on knitting, textile print and sportswear, technological innovation is at the heart of HTW Berlin. Since 2016, the university's research project 'Proto:n' has been exploring the world of wearable tech, virtual and augmented reality and sustainable design practice. Unsurprisingly, HTW Berlin students were highly satisfied with the school's offering of technical skills courses and the technology available on campus, with each receiving more that 85 percent rating in our survey. Students were generally satisfied with the quality of the teaching staff and the student body, however scores fell in regards to the quality of recruiters that HTW attracts. Despite this, 86 percent of respondents believed that they left HTW Berlin adequately equipped to enter the industry. Other areas for improvement include the business and marketing courses, where less than 70 percent of students were satisfied.

Student & Alumni Comments

"The technology and machines are unparalleled. Definitely gives you a competitive advantage when you enter the work world. "

Alumni

"The best technology is available to us. HTW provides skills that are highly relevant as a creative. I would have liked more help getting a job after I graduated. "

Alumni

"I love being at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft. The thing I love about it most is that we have a lot of machines and our sewing lab is very modern (supposed to be the most modern design department in Germany)! I love our campus, it's a nice atmosphere in which to study. Our campus is an old industrial building, reminds me of being in Brooklyn, New York."
