Located in Downtown Miami, between the high rise buildings of Brickell and the recently gentrified and up-and-coming Wynwood area, Miami International University of Art & Design sits in the heart of the city. Our survey showed strong results regarding students' contentment with the institution's campus and resources. The school's location, a short distance from Miami's South Beach, creates opportunities for students to be involved with Miami Swim Week and the swimwear market. In 2017, 91 percent of students were satisfied with the quality of teachers. Students rated the school course offerings in technical skills, digital technology, marketing, business above average compared to the scores of other schools. Students were generally satisfied with accessibility to alumni, which has improved significantly since 2016, and graded the school's career services highly. As a result, 84 percent of graduates felt prepared to enter the industry. Employability of students, as measured by global HR professionals, scored poorly, causing the school to fall several places in our rankings.
"Miami International University of Art & Design provides many opportunities for students to master their craft. Not to mention we had exclusive opportunities to assist with fashion shows in Miami; For example, I assisted in the Donna Karan show, Versace, Isabel Toledo, Miami Swim Week, and many more."
"Since commencing MIU my experience has been amazing. The environment is conducive to spawning creativity and ideas. There are so many opportunities to work industry related events. The access to top tier quality faculty is second to none. Students also have the opportunity to help out with Swim Week!"
"In terms of fashion design: The faculty is great, teachers have fantastic experience, with many of them currently working in the industry. The technological equipment as well as laboratories are sufficiently updated and accessible. Administration of the school (admissions, finance etc.) is a not helpful enough. I believe that the number of employees working in the offices is sufficient, but accessiblity to help feels limited."
