The internationally renown makeup artist, whose brand Pat McGrath Labs was valued at $1 billion in 2018, was named a D.B.E. — Dame of the British Empire for Services to the Fashion and Beauty Industry and Diversity — by Queen Elizabeth II. The royal released her 2021 honours list just before the new year.

In an Instagram statement, McGrath said she was “beyond humbled” to receive the recognition, thanking her mother, friends, family, colleagues and friends. “I dedicate this honour in tribute to Makeup Artists everywhere,” she wrote. “I adore each and every one of you. Never give up on your dreams - with hard work, creativity and perseverance anything is possible.”
