The country’s e-commerce sector saw 36 percent and 30 percent year-on-year growth for order volume and gross merchandise volume respectively during 2020′s last quarter, The New Indian Express reported.

Even as India recovers from the pandemic, consumers are continuing to shift their spending online. Personal care, beauty and wellness were the biggest beneficiaries of the boost, according to a report released by Unicommerce and Kearney. While second and third-tier cities made up for a 90 percent increase in volume and value growth compared to 2019, brand websites saw a 94 percent volume growth year-on-year during the fourth quarter.
